bigsteve04tahoe Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I have a 2004 Tahoe. I want to mount a 6.5 on either side of the stock console. !st off how will it affect imaging or will it kind of act as a center channel? What i really want to know is will it be worthwhile to try it out.? Pioneer AVH-P9400BH head unit Galaxy Tab as library for Bumps 1Tb hard drive for more music (only about 200Gb) Rockford T400.4 for mids and highs 2 Crossfire 1700d strapped for subs 2 Sundown Zv3 15 inch subs Power T1652s components in front and rear doors. Punch tweets in the A pillars Big 3 upgrade in 1/0 Future Plans Kick pods for some more T1652S components Maybe some SA8v2's in a custom console once i get around to building it.
ds1919 Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 yeah you can do that for more spl, but it wont sound the same as putting them in the doors because you essentially wont have a left speaker, just the right, which is on the console, and another facing away from you that you may not hear at all. I'd use the mids in the doors, and use some smaller subs on the console. JL has some 6.5 subs...
Tebo Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 I'm sure he will have speakers in the doors as well. In my dakota I have a 6 inch each door and both of my tweeters are mounted center channel style. Kinda small cab so imaging wasnt a big issue for me. 04 dodge dakota ext cab 4x4 excessive amperage 300 amp alt with MONSTER stud =)sundown z v3 15 in a 4th order on aq2200sundown 100.4 2 way active...2 Prv audio 6mb200 & 2 re XXX tweetersdeka intimidatorkenwood x396big 3 1/0 knu wire back to deka intimidator
