99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999994% of the time, preout voltage doesn't matter. all you should be caring about is how clean the signal is. you can tell the voltage of the sine wave through the scope readout as well.

Yea but ur assumption of user error was a bit bold... I have gone thru every setting, checked for clipping with oscope... I'm just frustrated sorry man wasn't trying to offend

Right... Which like u said preout voltage is fine and clean signal bc I don't go above 40 which is clipping point

frustration is understandable. i'd be frustrated too if my install didn't work as i intended.

do the woofers even move a decent amount after you tuned everything to output max clean power?

edit: did you try tuning with the sub level at +10

They barely move once tuned with clean signal... They move like crazy and rattle windows when I feed dirty signal so I'm wondering if I just need bigger amp so I'm not sending dirty signal or what

I was working on retuning amp with HU sub level on max and that's when my HU just crapped out on me... It's like I shorted my HU but only way I could have done it was thru RCA

It seems like it's a typical case of not having right enclosure, hence, not getting the output you expected, and trying to squeeze more out of the system by making adjustments, thats probably why the subs started to heat up. What could also be an added factor is the hu settings like the filter if it have that option.

I turned off all filters on HU... I get the sound I want of of subs in current box but only when sending overloaded/clipped signal... For instance... Play song with amp putting out 42.24 v clean signal sounds like one 10"... Play same song with amp putting out around 56v dirty signal and sounds like I have thunder going off in my car, bass so loud it vibrates your throat and makes the shirt I'm wearing vibrate
