I have all that figured out, and the price isn't too bad. What is killing me is I am only doing the swap if I can have a 6 speed behind it. The cheapest I have been able to find Tremec T-56 transmissions for is 2g's+. Am I missing something, or is there some way to find cheaper Tremecs? The only catch is it has to be out of an F-body (Camaro, trans-am, firebird). If you guys know where I can find one on-line, okease let me know. I am not buying it right now, but hopefully some time relatively soon. I'm sure you can find one that has a blown headgasket or got rear ended and is totalled. I have seen some drivetrains from wrecked f-bodies, but they always seem to have tons of miles, and I am not swapping out a 50k drivetrain for a 90k+ drivetrain. I am looking for the tranny because I can get the 5.3L out of a truck, and bolt up the LSx parts, and I basically have an iron block LS engine, and for alot cheaper, but it is pointless when I have to blow all the money I saved on a transmission. Redoing my system is starting to look like a much cheaper alternative.
