RMac18
The 3 dials beside the rca input is your bass boost, LFP(Low Pass Filter)(Frequency)), and Input Sensitivity(gain). What do you have these dials set to?

Jessica
ok, what headunit do you have? it's ok to run lpf at 50 but 80 or 90 will get you more bass. seems like .2 is too much, but not knowing what headunit you have there is no way to know. I have a lot of experience with this amp, and it runs hot and hates being clipped even a little. I think that is your problem. I also clamped it at like 670 watts at 3ohms so it should drive your subs just fine. We just need to get those gains set right. Plus, you could just put those subs in a ported enclosure and that will get them louder. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. RMac18
Your gain needs to be set properly not just set to max, its not a volume knob and your most likely clipping the shit out of that sub.
Joshua Dumas
the headunit is a kenwood excelon kdc-x596. i have no idea what to set the gain too, i just left it the way it shipped. and i only have it hooked up to one sub right now because each sub is 400watt rms. dammit haha the guy at crutchfield said a sealed box would be the best way to go.
