vw passat Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 any help pls because im confused about what happined to me
Crandis16 Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 you have a 15? it looks like you could use a little more port area to to volume ratio, but you're just under what it should be (14-17 in^2 / ft^3) you're tuned to 35, but chances are your car peaks at a higher frequency than 35. what low frequencies doesn't it do well at? Guest Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 depends on the vehicle. depends on box orientation. depends on if the door/window is open or closed. depends on which side the port is facing. battery voltage doesn't dictate how low a woofer can play. it just dictates how much power the amp can produce. you still don't seem to realize (after i've explained it multiple times) that port area per foot is just port area divided by how big the box is. it tells the same amount of information. show pictures of the box. maybe you built it wrong.
vw passat Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 i dont know my car freq but when i had a box tuned to 40hz and iv play rack city the sound it sounds like crap so what i need to change fron the box and do u think what happin to the woofer (stuck) because the box it build wrong? btw my car is a vw passat tx guys
Crandis16 Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 what do you mean by woofer is "stuck"? My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
REVOofRustler Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 It sounds like you're trying to play songs that hit too low for your setup. If I remember right, My Moment hits 25 hz. Your subs are probably flailing about uncontrollably when it tries to hit that note. Set the subsonic filter on your amp to about 30 hz and it should clean it up a bit. 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
Crandis16 Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 this^^^^ I would have same problem until I tuned amp to cut off at 30hz My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
Guest Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 yeah im not understanding the stuck thing. if the woofer was stuck, it wouldn't make any noise whatsoever. rack city is like 28hz. this site says 70 liters (2.5cuft). pretty small for a 15, but i cant say if its right or wrong. http://www.powerset.fi/autohifi/spldynamics/spl-380d2.html
