HawkEye Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Hey all.I have a PB XA4000D and I am having some troubles with it.When I start my car the amp powers on like it should and music starts playing MOST of the time. Some times no music will play. Here is where I am stumped. When the amp turns on and my sub doesn't work I can hit the side whcih the power/ground inputs are and it will start working again. Also when I turn the volume up my sub will start to pop then stop playing. When this happens I can still hit the amp right by the power/ground inputs and it will start playing again. Also, the power light is on even when it doesn't work and the protect light never comes on either. Now I know its not the sub becasue I had a second one of these amps and it played/worked flawlessly.I took the amp apart to snap some pictures for you guys and when I did I noticed what I thought was 2 grounds that were loose. So I tightened them up and still no luck. Im hoping its something real simple that im just overlooking. So do you guys know what could be wrong? Here are some gut shots of the amp.The third pic has the grounds that I mentioned. They are the black wires on each side screwed into the side of the amp.
Noel989 Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 What do you mean "hit"? I had similar problems with an amp I had Its dead Can you try it out on a different car that already has a amp that works? Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
Alvi45 Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 It sounds like something loose or some solder came loose
HawkEye Posted February 16, 2013 Author Report Posted February 16, 2013 By hit I mean I can use my hand and hit the power/ground input side and it will start working again. I don't have another car I could test it in either.
Alvi45 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Some car audio shops could test it out maybe free or at a small fee
