Watts per Channel and multiple speakers.

First off, i really hate to ask this question as i feel i should know the answer, but I just want to make sure i'm right on this.

So if an Amp does lets say "300 Watts x 2 @ 2Ohms" and i have three 8 ohm speakers wired to the one channel, that means the 300 watts would be divided among those three speakers which would mean each of those speakers would be receiving 100 Watts a piece?

not completely. And wiring 3, 8 ohm speakers together will give it an odd ohm load i dont know exactly what it would be. The best thing to do in your situation is get a good 4 channel amp. Or if you cant afford that just use the amp you have and wire two of the speakers to one channel at 4 ohms. And 2 other speakers on the other channel. I dont know the exact specs and what on that amp so I cant tell you what each speaker would be getting at 4 ohms with two on each channel.

Maybe someone else can chime in on this, but i just used the12volt.com and punched in 3 single voice coil subs at 8 ohm each and it shows a final resistance of 2.67 ohms, so yeah its not exactly 2 ohms but close i guess with rise and whatnot it may bump up to 3ohms?

I thought about getting a 4 Channel but i just figured i'd be able to get a 2-channel that pushes more watts at 2ohms, ideally around 300 watts, i couldnt find a a 4 channel within my budget that does that kind of power.....

Look at the focal solid 4 amp. Does 100 watts x4 at 2 ohms.

It would be divided equally yeah, the VCs may not actually read 8 ohms. For example the mids I'm looking at are 8 ohm but read ~6 ohms.

ok so thats where my question comes in, so lets say i get that focal amp, That 100 watts would be divided among the speakers running on that channel right? For instance if i had two 4 ohm speakers running on that channel (2ohm load) the speakers would get 50 watts a piece?

I'm looking at 2 channel amps that can do atleast 300 x 2 @ 2 ohms so the speakers i'm running will be getting at least almost 100 watts a piece once i pick up another set of these Eminence eminators.

Ideally yeah, same concept as wiring multiple subs to a single amp.
