FosgateLife Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Okay so im redoing some of my wiring and stuff in my trunk and i got to thinking, how am i PROPERLY suppose to power my AudioControl LC2i? Right now what im doing is running it into the power of one of my amps, and then grounding it in a separate place. Is this safe? What is the best way of going about getting power to it? Could i run some wire to the front of my car (inside) where my LED lights distribution post is? (Dual 18 gauge power and ground leads) Or is that not safe either? Im just confused. I guess a question that is relative to this is how to hook up an active crossover? Thanks for the help. Im a noobie. mrd6 Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 I dont know the specifics of the audiocontrol you are using but in general, in no particular order: -Hook up positive power to your 12v power source with a properly sized inline fuse -Connect your remote turn on to a switched 12v ignition signal -Make sure you have a solid ground for your negative return ...Pretty much the same as hooking up any amplifier Does that answer your question or? As long as the current demands are met (correct wire size) then you're good.
