wcefai
So, I am mostly a lurker and have been reading up on 6ths for a while and think I actually might have a design that'll work. The thread that was really helpful was one over on caco (idk if I'm allowed to post the link here. I will if I'm allowed) but here's a summary of what I've learned: Inner box- generally to ported specs (volume), ~3-5sq in port per foot, tuned low (aeros work well to keep port noise down) Outer - volume depends on ratio wanted - 1:1 fairly flat between tuning points, 1:2(inner:outer) peak near higher tuning point, 2:1 peak near low tuning point. Port - 35-50sq in port per foot, tuned one octave higher than inner box (one octave higher is double the one below it - ex: 60 is one octave above 30hz) general rule of thumb: don't have ports firing into each other. inner ports need to be able to load off a wall If there's anything else that I missed, correct me. My design: Inner - Outer - sketckup - cutaway and fully built (I'm still new to sketchup, sorry for awful building lol)
Slobalt7
Did you ever make this? How did it come out? Yeah, it's slower than your bowel movements.
