ace2006
Ok so i just purchased new a Pioneer Premier TS-W2502D2 10", 2 ohm dvc sub (only one). I wired the sub parallel down to 1 ohm and checked it with a volt meter to make sure. I hooked it up to a massive n 3 amp and it clips the amp with the gain just barley up. I thought it was the box but i built a custom box at 36 hz vented and still same thing. I also tried my pair of re rfx 8" 4ohm dvc which are wired down to one ohm and they worked perfect with the amp. So i know its not the amp. My question is what can it be that makes the sub sound distorted and clip my amp? I also checked each channel of sub and the are at 1.6 and other 1.8. Please any help would be appreciated. bkolfo4
What is the input source, and how high is it turned up? The gain is not a volume control; it is easy to get maximum output out of the amp with just a slight amount of gain if the input source is strong enough. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
