devanb3 Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 I'm building a back seat L-shaped enclosure for my 2013 toyota tacoma to go in the center seat. I have 2 earthquake dbxi-10d they require .77-1 cubic feet enclused volume each... now i had seen isobaric boxes before but have never built one now my question is how do i go about building one... i've read they require only half the volume. im wanting one sub in the box completely facing the other sub and the other facing the back seat
revoracing247 Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 yeah they do only require half the volume that would be needed if you were only running one sub. as for building one. i'd say you want one sub in the box facing out and the other exact opposite so the two cones are facing each other. like this and on how to do this i've never done it myself but this is what i'd try if i went for it. i'd make a kind of spacer that you can screw in and take out if needed and it'd be made out of speaker rings that would fit around the speaker thats mounted in the box then after giving it like 1.5 of height, have the next ring come in so that you can revers mount the other sub to it. that or just make some speaker rings that fit in between the subs and then mount them all together at the same time with long screws kind of like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/adandos/3854018126/ but i've never tried doing this actually so i might wait to see what some other people say that have more experience lol and MAKE SURE you wire the subs out of phase with eachother so that when one is "pushing" the other is "pulling" at the same time. or you're gonna have a problem lol ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
