blcrocker
I traded and sold off pretty much all of my old system to help pay for this past semester and have decided to start a new build. I had always just tossed in a headunit, amp and sub(s) and called it done. This time though I'm going to take my time and build from scratch. The other day a friend of mine wanted to sell his amp and sub. An Alpine MRX-M1000 and a 15" Rockford P3-D2. So I snatched those up for $100 even. I then headed over to bestbuy to grab a bluetooth headunit and wire harness because I was sick of having to deal with an aux cable. Luckily I was lazy and kept all my power wire and cables ran though my car. It's all Knu wire and RF rca's. Here's what I did Wednesday night. Also I had a Calc test and a final in another class Thursday. Despite spending time building this and messing around without studying I did pretty well on both. Got all my wood cut at Lowes. 9:30pm Test Fit Love my mini clamps Last few screws The X wasnt where I wanted it so I moved my center point. It fits! blcrocker
I was left with atleast a third of a 4'x8' sheet of mdf. Any Ideas on what I should do with it? Maybe a new false floor? thefourth
Have any pics of the actual car? I have the same one, same year. Tuned for this one Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. blcrocker
It does rattle a ton. Im probably going to take it out at some point, replace the baffle with a solid piece of mdf and place the sub at the front of the box. Hopefully I'll be able to pull the current baffle off. Also I'm open to ideas and pointers.
