CRudy Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 It wouldn't be out of the ordinary for an amps fuses to blow if you have it wired down passed its recommendations would it? and if that's normal for the fuses to blow while its wired passed recommendations, and you replace them, they would most likely blow again correct?

I'm kind of using this to prove a point to someone but anyways if you were to continue to run it wired below recommendations it would probably destroy the amp in the long run right? thanks for you're help!
revoracing247 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 when wiring down an amp past it's recommended ohm rating it's always gonna have a higher chance of blowing. especially if you don't have the electrical to support the significantly higher current draw it's gonna have. there's a reason companies have lowest STABLE ohm load ratings. not saying it "will" blow in the long run (and maybe it wont) but the people that make it say it's not stable at that low of an ohm load. if you're just trying to prove a point to someone just point out the obvious: the company doesn't suggest wiring it down that low, it's way harder on your equipment, it's ALREADY showing signs that it doesn't do well at that low of an ohm rating, the fuses are there for a reason, and im not saying it's gonna blow today or tomorrow or ever, but it sounds like he's having a nice dance with the devil wiring it that low. but in retrospect, it is someone else's equipment so if he blows it. oh well, his loss and maybe it'll be a lesson learned. at least it won't really effect you. (also on a side note, don't most higher quality amps not have fuses? like the BC2000, AQ2200, DC, ect? i could be wrong but if im right, what does that say about his amp) ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
