2 AQ 1200's

Alright guys. I finally have the money to do the system. Now I'm just curious what I need for the proper electrical. I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0 l6. I'm pretty sure it has a 90 amp alt. I am going to be runing 2 OA 18's with an AQ 1200 for each sub @ 1ohm.

Any suggestions as to what I need to run? Already have the big 3 done with 1/0 wire

Go with a DC power alternator. They make one for that year Cherokee. Thinks its a 270 amp

Alt is the best upgrade to make. Try to get something with an external regulator or adjustable voltage module becaues our Jeeps like to only charge at 13.8v being regulated by the computer.

560 bucks.. ouch lol. there's no way to run those two without upgrading alt?

edit: i could do it, if absolutely needed. but i'd rather not.. would i be better off if i just go with one aq1200 for both subs..?

stock alts are not designed to charge multiple batteries. I do not know why people say they can have a stock alt and run a couple batteries and have a high power system. Those people are idiots. The alternator generates all the power when the car is running and goes to battery power when the alt can't handle the current demand. Upgrade alt especially since you have a tiny 90 amp one. That amp requires more amperage than your alt can put out.

Alright, I'll start saving up for the alt. Thanks guys!

I wouldn't run double the rated power, if it were me. Those are 600 Watt subs and youre planning 1200 each? Seems a bit much to me.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Yea dont over power them too much. Dcs aren't known for good cooling

Even with cooling aside still too much. I you want to run something like an aq2200 sell your level 2s on here or caco and us a little of that money to go to level 3s

What do you mean DCs aren't known for good cooling? Are you talking about the alt, or subs. He is planning on running Obsidian subs...
