black05alti Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 and i'd get a 270-300 amp alternator just for peace of mind.
Lifted2000Ford4x4 Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 think of this... you can never have too much over kill in the electrical department, id do atleast 2-3 runs of 1/0 to the back, and fuse everything!
Hillage Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 My current issue is that the quote I got from mechman said only universal will fit my current car, and I'm waiting for a quote on a car I'm looking into getting this summer. 240A is the highest rating I can find from mechman online to purchase, but the quote said they have universal up to 320A... And there is no way I can fit more than one alt under the hood in my current car...
Hillage Posted May 31, 2013 Author Report Posted May 31, 2013 Singer said I can get a 220A that will drop right in, no custom bracket needed... Will that be enough for what I'm doing? It's about the same price as the universal, but the universal needs a custom bracket and I'm not sure how well that would go for me...
Lifted2000Ford4x4 Posted June 1, 2013 Report Posted June 1, 2013 you're gunna need more then that for a 5k. or a SHIT ton of batts
