Airborne
I have an actuator that I am going to use on a build and want to wire a switch to make it go up and down. Any suggestions on the sort of switch I should use? I tried a hydraulic switch but couldn't make it work right... it is a basic 2 wire actuator and for whatever reason I can't make it work with the switches I have. Macgyver76
You need a 2 pole 3 position momentary switch if you want to do it that simply. The switch also known as a dpdt momentary would be wired with the two motor leads for the actuator to the two center(common) poles, then on one side of the switch you will connect + and -, on the other side you will reserse the + and - connections. Some thing like this: Sorry for my crude diagram below, it shows the 6 connections from rear of switch, both - go to ground, both + go to power through a fuse. Actuator to middle. +o o- actuator wire #1 o o #2 actuator wire -o o+
