ok so ive seen some ads for this amp.

is it to good to be true that i can get a 1200w RMS@1ohm amp for this price?!?!! (267dollars)

has anyone got one?that lives near SMD HQ that would let steve test it on the bench??

if not, what amp would you guys recomend, im not after pure SPL more SQL with the ability to go hard/punch/go deep

In my experience, Pioneer amps aren't bad (persay). But if your looking for TRUE RMS or good numbers, go with a Rockford Fosgate, DC Audio, or Sundown amps. They may be the preferred amp for SPL but when numbers matter, the numbers don't lie. And you'll get better SQL out of an amp that can do the work, than an amp with low numbers that struggles to keep up.

but 1200w rms, i dont really need it, im not after 1200w, but the extra overheads nice. ill probably be running a single 12" Alpine Type X/new Type R.

there not bad amps, kinda like the alpine line, a basic amp, that gets the job done. they have been known to do a bit more then rated.

The price for the power seems right. I have a Soundqubed (AudioQue) 1200D. It's a nice amplifier that does rated power for basically the same price as that Pioneer.
