figuring box size....

Recommended Posts

WinISD Beta recommends 2.1 cubes for the T-7104, which is what I assume you have. So... 4 cubes isn't too large for two, even without bracing. Those are older subs and they weren't designed to run in small enclosures like subs are today. I would caution you against running too much power on them though. In a sealed box, they might handle 375 each okay but I wouldn't drive them too hard or for too long and I certainly would turn OFF any and all bass enhancement/boost switches or dials on the head unit and the amp.

k I'll definitely keep that in mind. and they are indeed old as hell so I can see that. I'm hoping they'll last me at least long enough to save up for my type r 15. I was looking at this week. :) lol... those things are siiiiccckkkk! :D but yeah. I tend not to run it anyway with the bass boost and that unless the subs aren't doing shit at non boosted levels... like with this dual amp when I hooked up my new head unit... I turned everything off and am runing only half boost right now (6db). I'm surprised these subs are still together. they haven't disintegrated yet... :) the surroubds are beautiful.... spiders are impeccable... surface wise. you can't tell much but you can tell theyve been babied :D

Okay, let me qualify that statement I made.... turn off any and all bass boosts unless they're needed to make classic rock bass audible. ;-)

Just curious, did you buy those subs new? I think it would be cool if I still had some of the old equipment I've run over the years. I still have an Earthquake Magma 12 and a 15 from about ten fifteen years ago but they've got open coils...

:D for sure... yeah see when I'm running the way the amp is made to run... as I am again now 150×2 at 4 ohm this particular amp you basically NEED full 12db boost. but I had this amp pushed to its limits running 6db. 300w~ at two channels running a 2 ohm load with a huge cooling fan... she didn't like it though she was smell NASTY HOT! so I brought her back to normal bahahaha

no didn't buy these new... they may have been lightly used because the guy I got them from had them in his garage for a while... I don't know how long but they seemed like almost right out of the box... no noticeable wear at all... the cones are still purdy ( no dents in the covers just immaculate) got em for $50 bucks lmno. though I plan to keep these bad boys a while... they have an awesome sound to them and I have lil complaints about them...
