severancej
I have the discontinued infinity reference 3 way six by nines powered by a P400-4. Thinking about turning this +3db switch on. Are these tweets normally-3 db or how does that work? Don't want to hurt them cause i know their impedance is like 2.6 ohms so they should be getting good power. 98' dodge ram 140A alt Big 3 XS D2700 JVC kd-r310 Rockford T500-1BDCP 2 Sundown E12 Ported 4cubes 35hz Rockford P400-4 2 Infinity reference 3way 6x9 2 Polk DB 5 1/4 2x layer dynamat all doors

Nothing out of the ordinary so far they should be fine. 98' dodge ram 140A alt Big 3 XS D2700 JVC kd-r310 Rockford T500-1BDCP 2 Sundown E12 Ported 4cubes 35hz Rockford P400-4 2 Infinity reference 3way 6x9 2 Polk DB 5 1/4 2x layer dynamat all doors
Jessica
I may be wrong, but, any passive crossiver with a "+" isn't boosting anything. +3 is probably more like 0 and 0 is -3db and -3db is -6db. It's more about the crossover network and the tweeter sensitivity. Like, if the crossover filters some other frequencies out other than the actual crossover point. For instance if the crossover high passes 3500hz it may also cut some sounds around 12k and 8k. So when you select +3 it may bypass that part of the filter. I really can't say for sure, but you won't hurt anything just by selecting +3 as long as everything else is as it should be.
