95neon_thumper82 Posted July 12, 2013 Report Share Posted July 12, 2013 ok so my gas tank on my 95 neon builds vacuum. like a noticeable vaccuum and it seems on warmer days it causes a bit of driveability issues. when I got the car it had a vaccum cap on one nipple of the fuel tank. I found this out when it disolved and spilled all my gas in the parking lot at work. so I jerry rigged a fix for it on the spot and now its time for a proper fix. but how? I'm thinking possibly attach a hose to the nipple and running it some where where it'll rest higher than the gas level at full tank. possibly with a one way valve to stop evaporation. but if I can get a better idea I'd love to hear it. here are some pics. you can see the hose I rigged up and basically what I'm dealing with. to show the actual nipple location you can see my other clamp there. something tells me this bulkhead may be in wrong but I'm no expert! Or get the one way checks they use on motocross bike vent lines..i have one on my bike that mounts in line...then rout it higher up then the gas tank like u said.
