Here is what I am talking about, and I am sure if you did some searching you could find them cheaper if needed. A world of a difference instead of counting drops!!!

You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it.

I need to invest in one of those. But i have found a way to cut costs. Wal mart sells plastic measuring cups with ounce marks on them in the paint section. I used to re-use those till they broke but i found some cheap clear plastic cups, like 100 for 2.48 that hold up to the heat of the resin. i measure in cup that has the marks and pour it into the cheap cups and add my catalyst. Keeps my measuring cup clean too.

I still go through a ton of those $1 2" brushes though lol.

I've been doing a bit of fiberglassing lately. I'm no expert but I have noticed that the directions say mix X number of drops of catalyst with X ounces of resin. The problem is, what is a drop? Are you going to use a straight pin to puncture the tube, the tip of a screw, nail? If you havent used fiberglass before make a 2 ounce batch. mix pre directions and just work with it nice and slow and see how long you have before it starts to gel up.

My resin calls for 10 drops per ounce, but it's 85+ out and i use about 7-8 drops per and i have time to get it worked in, the 8 ounce batch i made today i had just enough time to get it all worked in.

Hope that helps

Since its a ratio, it shouldn't matter the size of the drops, as long as they're the same. Just use he same screw to make all of your holes and you should be good one would think.

Bigger drops mean more catalyst, smaller drops mean less catalyst. But that is a discussion for a different thread. We are starting to derail this one. Sorry OP.

Well from the sounds of it sunflash should take care of the brush issue.
