SA 12 stopped working..help!

Hey guys so i need a little advice..i have a single sa 12 running on around 600 watts and it's fairly new, id say around a month. I don't blast it and today i was playing it on low volume and it randomly just stopped working..i have no idea what to do ?

check fuses, wires, grounds, speaker wires, so on and so on.

Well i checked all of that, the only thing left is the sub itself or the amp just isnt pushing any signal?

Hook the amp to another speaker (turn amp down first depending on power handling). If it plays, your sub is bad. If it doesn't your amp is bad (assuming you checked all fuses/connections)

Or you could hook the sub up to your home stereo or even the deck in your car to see if the sub works. Your car deck won't exactly flex it, but you should be able to tell whether or not it is playing.

why go through all of that when he can just ohm test the terminals first to check coils?

if its a cheaper prefab box, make sure the wires havent come off of the terminal cup that the sub is hooked to for your amp wires to hook to too.

cant he just ohm test at the teminal cup? 2 birds, 1 stone.

Let me draw a map for those that cant apply some common sense. Check outside the box at the terminal cup if there is one. If no reading is present, then check it at the sub while checking the wires at the same time making sure none of them have come loose or have a connection problem...

So if no reading and sub is basically "bad" what would sundown do if it is still under warranty, if anyone knows?

Unless it was a manufacture defect it probably is not under warranty, if the sub is bad you will need a recone, I suggest buying a basket too for a few bicks extra and it makes the process easier.
