volkswagginvr6 Posted August 19, 2013 Report Share Posted August 19, 2013 upgraded turbo back exhaust, front mount intercooler upgrade, possibly injectors, and a tune. i think i remember reading about a volvo guy a while back making a billet fuel rail that will use the ford 42 lb injectors for those engines too. just look into more than anything free flowing exhaust, an intercooler to cool the air that is going into the engine and a tune. You will be surprised how much you will actually get by doing some simple things like this. as far as headers go there is no need the stock cast turbo manifold is plenty good plus alot of aftermarket "stainless" manifolds end up getting cracks in them from the excessive heat. just do a good downpipe and 2.5 in exhaust all the way back. just my 2 cents.
