you can do that then...

it could be split but theres no point if you want to use one amp for front and another for rear.. just put two runs of RCAs for 4channels (front rear) and one for sub stage..

u can also connect RCAs of second amp to RCAs output of first amp but you will have less control.

I could run the front pre amp out the first amp for highs and mids and the rear+sub pre amp outs to the second amp for mids and sub. But wouldn't I still have to split the front signal to go into 4 channels?

This stereo stuff can get pretty cunfusing the more you think about it.
