Wicks
I just watched the video. Then texted my friend that is an eletrical engineer. Phase angle is out of alinment at any frec other then your peak frec. So at your peak frec. There is no phase angle they are the same. Phase angle is at 0deg at your resonant frequency. Therefore yes, the voltage and current are in phase and you could clamp. BUT, you'd have to play a test tone of the exact resonant frequency which isn't going to be what's printed in the manual. You'd have to sweep each individual speaker to find its specific parameters. Even if you did, at resonance the sub's impedance is very high so you're going to end up with a much smaller number. If you're just trying to vaguely compare amps then you could try this method, but usually most people will want to find out what they're equipment is truly capable of. Dd9515 king
On the dyno your amp sees what ever ohms you set it to right. The dyno has no sub no box or car to change anything on it right. In my eyes you dont need to clamp test your amp if your not going for numbers. If you talk to any( non midwestspl) competiter they only play at one frec. To have the loudest score. At that frec. You clamp to see your power. To see your rise and power output. Then you build a new box to get less rise and more power. If the only thing your doing is playing music. There is no reason for you to clamp. Music is not a steady wave. Then every song is recorded at different db's so just changing songs will affect it.
