matt6288 Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 ok heres is the deal I was setting my gains with a DMM when I went to set the probes to the outputs and realized I had The DMM plugged in to the wron set up it was hooked into the 10mA side of the DMM and when I hooked it up it made a sound and since this point I have crazy engine noise and I don't know how to get rid of it. what could have happened when I did this? I hooked up another amp but the noise is still there, all my grounds are great. could it be the RCA's or could it went all the way back to my radio?
Neckbeard Posted September 16, 2013 Report Posted September 16, 2013 I would change RCA's just to check, and if its not them, put in a old deck to see if the current HU is responsible Build log, Super slow!!: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168096-slow-neckbeards-1970-opel-gt/
jarrius Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Also try turning your gain down. Just because your amp is rated at let's say 1200wrms does not mean it puts out 1200wrms of clean power. Also check your grounds 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
David Bailey Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Try switching your RCA's first, you may have fried them somehow. Kenyel Dotts Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Just have to ask.... how do you fry RCA's. Man check your HU you may have blown some thing in the HU. Def check gains that can do this also. but sounds like you may have damaged the RCA output on your HU or bad ground. If your going to take the HU out you may be better off bench testing everything first then re-instal King dingalingIts not finished till i say so Bit@^!
