Fitted my audio into my Focus but...

Hi all.

First up, I'm new here.

Pointed in this direction from digitalspy forums by a user on there.

Anyway,

I've a 2003 Focus ST170.

Sony MEX-BT2700 Headunit

I've used the headunit in many cars, and it works just fine in all of them, with Amps connected is also fine etc.

I've installed it into this car, and again it works fine.

I've since added an Amplifier to run a Sub, and all of my speakers too. (4 Channel amp)

Connected it all up, as normal - +12v to Battery, REM to remote on Headunit, and GND To earth, obviously.

Now here's my problem...

The Amp powers up perfectly fine with NO REM CABLE connected at all, obviously it doesn't switch on / off its just permanently on.

When i connect a REM Cable, it stays on (As long as the headunit is OFF), as soon as i switch the headunit ON, therefore energising the REM Cable to +12v, the Amp powers off.

In essence, the controlling of the amp is Backwards!

Anyone had this before?

Its a Vibe Slick A3 Amp.

Thanks

David

Check all you're wiring. Also try putting the amp in someone else's car using their wires and stuff and see if it does the same thing as in your car
