Eturnulrs704 Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Tryna build a decent ground pounder, now i know i gotta tune low, but what exactly am i tuning low? do i need to tune the enclosure low as well as the amp. right now i just bought 2 15inch FI sp4 and 2 3000.1 amps. now, do i keep the amps to the 60-80's? and build the box at 34.5 or do i leave the amps and tune the box to 25-30... im tryna kill them lows..
hdorre Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 I would advise you to start smaller. In the long run, youll be much happier. Eturnulrs704 Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 why start smaller? never had a "small" system.. so do i tune the box n leave the amp at the setting i have now? im ready to build the box tomorrow but only have time, n wood for one shot. if i miss then i gotta wait for 2 weeks to rebuild. and im happy with making plenty noise n getting on my neighbors nerves..

And you only tune when dealing with a ported enclosure. The setting on the amp are LPF, low pass frequency. Not a way to tune. Tune ur box to 28-30 hz if u wanna hit the lows har IMO. Im only 15 n im just learning, this is my older brothers account n im just trying to get info because i dont want to ask him, he's being a dick right now.
Guest Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 low pass (lpf) on the amp is set to the highest frequency that you want to play on the woofers. generally like 80hz. subsonic is a high pass (hpf). you set it to the lowest frequency that you want to play. usually like 5hz lower than box tuning. again, depends on the box/setup/user intelligence. i hope you're ready to spend another 1000 to 1500 just on the electrical, alt and batts and wire and such, to power those 2 amps. what amps are they btw. 3000.1 doesnt give any information.
Guest Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 also, why in the FUCK do you WANT to piss off your neighbors? are you trying to give real bassheads a bad name or something?
Guest Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 tuning the box to 25hz will yield you jack for output. stick with like 30 or so.
Eturnulrs704 Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 also, why in the FUCK do you WANT to piss off your neighbors? are you trying to give real bassheads a bad name or something? relax dudemy neighbors are bass heads too but they have bullshit setups. chill why the hostility. and im using taramps 3000.1 hd line. my electrical is already done, i have 3 batteries and a high output alternator.. setup is old in my car. just swapped out the subs and the bass amp.
