jimmydamoose
really just wanted some validation on what I've got designed for now. I dropped the X12 in my old box but can tell it needs its own tailored box to be the best it can be. this is what i've got so far.... gzo12885
You need more port area per foot. At least 12-16. I'd say more port area too. I know zv4 12 requires just over 40in^2 of port. Not sure with the x12, but I'm sure it's more than 29. Also 3.2cu may be a little too big for an x. I'm running my zv4 at 3cu. CleanSierra
I'd do a 3" wide port, get that port area up into the 40s. Extend the port to around 28-32" long(depending on where you want tuning) and for God's sake, double baffle the thing. Side note. I doubt the displacement is only .10-.12 cubes. My RE SRx was a cheap, stamped basket and displaced .14. That sub only had a mounting depth of 6.5". The Sundown X12 is easily 2"(probably more)deeper, plus the basket is bulky and cast and the motor is deep and wide as well. I'd guess at least .24 cubed for one X12. But .30 is definitely not out of the question, it could easily displace that much volume. 1 Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. gzo12885
My Zv4 18 displacement is .15....that's a spec sheet straight from Brian at Sundown. I know, I thought the same thing, very small. The dis on a zv3 18 is .16, so might want to check up on that. CleanSierra
The basket on the X is completely different, is it not? I've not seen the basket on the new V4, but the X basket is far different and bulkier than the Z basket I'm aware of Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Jessica
I am pretyt sure displacement is not just the physical sub. it is affected by xmax and maybe a couple other things too.
