What are the boxes good for? As in do they sound good when done right, are they loud as hell, do they give you more of a range you play in?

Sorry for all the questions btw I'm just trying to figure it out so I can decide if I'm going to build one

if you want loud... this is for you... they lack the definition of a well built ported enclosure but they make up for it with depth and brutality. a lot of people don't like them... they say that they are hard to build and tune... BUT if done right and tuned well... the output is insane and you can get quite a wide range out of them. though they are quite peaky in their output they will peak high at one frequency... but again if tuned properly they can still give a pretty wide range of frequency output.

mine is tuned at 25hz and at 70hz... it peaks high at 38 ish hertz BUT the rest of the frequency range isn't too shabby at all... and at 500w people sware its more wattage then that... there's no way 500w has that output lol... umm yes there is.... a 6th order... lmno

its not that bad dude... lol... everyone makes it sound like you'll have to quit your day job to get it built right... lol sadly... I still have my day job. :D nothing worth having will come easily. but if you research enough you should have no problem getting it done right the first time.

I should write a how to on these beasties... :D then again idk if I want everyone knowing the secrets lol :P just kidding... if you can build a box... you can build two... and wrap em both around a single sub woofer.... and make it sound good.

mine slaps just as well with some decaf as it does with punk and metal... and it took me three weeks of here and there some days i would others i wouldnt and some times it was an hour at a time of working to get it built... most of it was cosmetic work painting and sanding...

And it does not seem o hard to build as you said. I have a decent ported box now I just want Torrey something different then what everybody has around where I live. I have seen NO 4th orders or 6th orders so I want to try one for next years comps

it is difficult...wtf lol.

you have to mess with front/rear tunings. box space. you cant accurately plot out the frequency response with winisd or bbp6 because those dont take into account your specific cabin's acoustic characteristics.

some people get lucky with their designs. thats probably where the "easy" part comes from.

Easy part is actually building it I think hard part is tuning but it should be a fun experience if I can get more info and learn more about them

BS BS BS

there not pure spl unless you design them that way. They are actually built to cover a broader ocative to cover more notes. You can very easily turn it into a SQ box

6th orders are very difficult to perfect, how ever you can get alot more out of them if you do it right. There are plenty of people who will draw you a design with blueprints to build one if your intrested
