I'm sure I could build a pair but making them sound better than the ones I got from Image dynamics would be hard. What I wouldn't give to have one play below 500hz. Kinda building a porto type so I can change the barrels from the housings so I can experiment and see what works best. For midrange applications. And your right about wanting something that plays below 500hz well. Rear loading compression chambers may be? Time and tinkering will tell. Home use for the time being.
