Mr DeeBeez
i am going to be building an enclosure for a 15" FI SSD. i thought that i had more room than i really did, and the tallest the box can be is 16". so either i will have to angle the front of the box to fit the 15" sub, or place the sub on the top of the box. i dont know if the hassle of making a wedge box is worth it. does anyone have any opinions on where a sub should go in a box? i dont want my trunk to rattle so much, and i think it would rattle more with the sub facing up, than if it is on the side of the trunk. is t worth it to make the sub on the side? or would it sound just as good on the top of the box? what are your opinions? any input is greatly appreciated. LoudBimmer
either way you will have a lot of trunk rattle. You will need to sound deaden it. Do you seats fold down?
Mr DeeBeez
i have a layer of dynomat on the top of the trunk, trunk lid and the bottom. and no. i have to remove the seats and when i do that i still only have like 13" tall and like 25" wide. i have a 99 grand prix. the only way i can get a box in is through the trunk lid Fi Team 18's (4) Crossfire 16k Crossfire 400.4 & 800.4 Pioneer AVH-X491bhs 140ah cmax CES 320's (2)
Mr DeeBeez
do you think there will be a noticeable difference in spl and rattle if it is up vs on the side? LoudBimmer
only way to know is to test it on TL. Looks like your only option is to go sub up and port back.
