Marshey
Test fitted moving it forward. Sticks out a bit but should be fine. Marshey
Should of added a bit of strength between 2x2 and rest of roof now. Not quite flush yet but when i go over the lot and onto baffle it will be. Just need to get a second baffle on it then ill glue and screw it. Tomorrows plan is cut 2nd baffle and cut side panels. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
BITLD
You might be disqualified from competing with it past the B-pillar. For dB Drag at least that's a no no. Emma/PD. I'm not sure but I'd recommend you check the rules before you get too deep into fabricating! www.BladeICE.com UK/European Distributors Ascendant Audio Fi Car Audio XS Power KnuKonceptz.co.uk Facebook Youtube Channel
Marshey
Ok so ive had a look through all the rules. db drag says... All "loading walls" must be located behind the door jambs. In addition, loading walls must be constructed from a completely clear material. emma says... Master wall class The subwoofers (including enclosures, ports, etc.) can be installed from the trunk to the B-pillar, from floor to ceiling. pd says... The rear off the car is normally filled with a huge wall of subwoofers which fill up the whole vehicle starting from just behind the front seats, filling the space from top to bottom of the vehicle and also extending into the boot area. Maybe i can just move it back 20mm so it lips under the door rubber. I havent been too bothered about competing but i dont want to rule it out for the sake of a inch or 2. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
Marshey
Finally had a day off work so my plan for the day was make a strong baffle. I think 5x 18mm mdf should be strong. Baffles made up of 3 sections 2 small bottom bits and big top bit . Subs will be flush fit. Long day cutting but finally finished. Tomorrows job is to glue and screw all the layers together then test fit in car. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/

Marshey
Didnt really do anything today didnt have any glue with me but thought id check to see how it fits in car. Bit of trimming needed on the top corners. Top needs to tilt upwards another inch still. Might put a support from the top of port to top baffle. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
Marshey
After lots of thinking how to do the sides i thought id go for maximum space so ive used flexi mdf and contoured it to the shape of the car. I glued it where it touches the car then used some 3x2 to hold the curves in place while i fibreglassed it. Just remembered how much i hate fibreglassing and have lots more to come. Just ordered quite alot more fibreglass to start adding strength. How many layers would i need to do on sides to make them strong enough? they will be braces with 2x2 aswel. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
Marshey
So got 25k resin 10kg of matting that should be enough to make this box stronger. Cars a mess and removed seats this time so i dont drip anymore on them. Completly lost track of how many layers ive done on the sides. Ive pushed on sides as hard as i can and they dont flex but might try pushing with feet see if its strong enough for that. Going to try get bottom half of baffle in tomorrow. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
Marshey
Doubled up port so its 36mm all round. Internal size is 11.5" wide 15.75" high and 18" long. Used biggest roundover bit i had on both sides of port. Back of sub cutouts roundover aswel. Nice and tight to the side at bottom so will be easier to glue. Not sure how im going to fix top half to side maybe try cut some 2x2 tight. Pulled that all back out going to carry on fibreglassing then smoothing the back half of box first saves me crawling through the holes. 2004 Renault Megane Pioneer AVH-4400BT 5 XS Power D3100 2 Renault 210a Alternator 1 Hertz 15k Spl Monster 2 RF T600-4 16 RF T162s 6.5" Mids 16 RF T1T 1.1" Tweeters 4 FI SP4 18" D2 subs Peak: 155.0 @ 31hz 40hz: 154.4 33hz: 154.6 25hz: 154.0 20hz: 152.5 Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/178428-renault-megane-4-fi-sp4-18s-walled-12k-457-pics-termlab-scores/
