Subs not hitting hard with new amp

Awhile back I posted asking which amp I should use for my 2 12 kicker comps. I decided to get a kenwood kac-2404s. I hooked it up and had an audio friend tune it but for someone reason it doesn't hit as hard as my sony xplode 600watt. Can anyone tell me what could be causing it to not hit as hard?

Why did you get a 4 channel amp for subs? I mean, you can use it like that, but thats pretty odd.

Didn't even know. Is that the reason why they're not hitting as hard?

also, even though the sony amp isnt doing rated either, that 4 chan amp is less power than the sony most likely. that 4 chan is probably 40 or less rms per chan, even if you bridged two channels, youd be giving maybe 75 rms to each sub, that would be the reason they arent hitting hard as you said. granted the sony probably isnt much more power overall compared to the 4 chan, you are still giving the subs less power with the kenwood, especially if you only have each sub wired to one chan

when i had kicker comps, i ran them on a rockford fosgate prime 500 amp, they sounded nice. i think those are rated at 250 or 300 rms each, so you re going to want to get an amp to match that. if you are going to run them at 4 ohms, then you would want an amp that can put out around 500 watts or so at 4 ohms. if you re going to run them at 1 ohm, you need to find an amp that is one ohm stable and can put out the power you want at 1 ohm. the enclosure also plays role in it, but someone else is better suited to explain that. best thing to do if you want advice for good mp to use with those subs, is list what you have, such as electrical, subs, enclosure (volume, type, tuning if known), and people will help you out for sure. look around hereon the forum or do more research before making a decision to buy
