Single 12 Testing

After years of not being into car audio, thinking I would EVER get back in...here I am. Today It was nice so I decided to see what the new setup would do. Its a Type R 12 on a DDm2a amp. I'm testing with a SPL Labs usb meter, I'm not sure how close it is to a Term Lab, guessing pretty close. Stock electrical so I can't really open it up on music safely so I threw on some tones. My goal is to hit a 146 sealed on dash with a single 12, not sure how feasible that is, but it's worth a shot. So far I'm impressed with the type r, taking the power no problem and moving a good amount of air. Anyone have any tips or suggestions let me know, I've gleamed a lot of knowledge off of the SPL Gains thread already!

that´s actually VERY impressive for a trunk car on a daily box peaking "low" on a single 12" sub, can´t see it very well, is it a 6" full lenght aero?

Yes it is, 17'' long with a 6'' opening. Here is better picture of the enclosure. I plan on doing some testing today with a longer port and a shorter port to see what happens.

143.7 sealed at 41hz today, didn't do much different, just seemed to like 41hz a little more than 44, which is where i have been burping it. It seems like 40-44hz is the sweet spot. Tried port firing into the cabin sub to the side(just for fun), lost a db at the dash and a lot more to the ear.

Good score man, keep it up!

Thanks, I'm really impressed with the Type R, didn't expect it to hold up as well as it has(or get as loud). If anybody with trunk builds can see some areas I can change, please let me know. I can't take all the credit I have a good buddy that has helped out quite a bit on this one.

i have a 150.5 trunk build with 2 similar 12s and a dd m4 with 2 batts, but , doesn´t play lows at all, peaks at 52 hz, for a single sub i really think you are on the right path, maybe i would try a little bit smaller box and sub facing up or back and same port facing side
