Help! (re Mt)

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a RE MT 18 (D4) and it will be going in my 99 Explorer Sport. I am really wanting to build the enclosure myself but I'm looking for a little advice on what will be the best set-up. Of course I woud like to do decent numbers but I'm more concerned with loud/deep bass so I would prefer the eclosure tuned to the low 30s. It will be pushed by a Hifonic Collosus II @ 2ohms (3200). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please tell me what you think:

Option #1 Sub up port to the rear (slot)

Option #2 Sub up/ports ( 2 6" auro ports) to the rear

Option #3 Sub up/port up

1996 DCM Impala SS

(2) JL 13W7s

(2) 1000/1s

(1) 450/4

1971 Caprice 406 SBC

SAZ-4500D

(2) Fi BTL 18s

do option number 2 and tune it from 30-32hz.

Thanks man. I was looking at buying the ports but they are expensive and considering I plan on upgrading to (2) 18s by summers end, it may be better if I used option (1) and wait until I upgrade to two subs. Will tuning the box that low make decent number's? Or do I need to tune it higher between 35-40 hz in order to do good on the TL?
