Team Sundown's Charles
Well I guess its time to put up or shut up. I've been afraid to post my build after seeing what alot of you guys posted. You guys have mad skills. And I've learned alot by being member of this site. So i guess I'll go ahead and put my build up here and see what you guys think. First let me give guys a little backgroung on me. I haven't been into car audio in about 15 yrs(i'm 36). Back in the day I had a S-10 Blazer with 4- 12" Plye Driver running off 2- Us Amps US-400(they where a new company back then). That what my family alway seem to remember about me. It was loud(very lound). Well now I'm a single dad with two kids. I got this car for 600 bucks. It was going to me my little play toy but my 10yrs took a liking to it and wanted me trick it out alittle. Deep down I wanted to anyway. It started out with a single 12" Infinity in the wheel well. Didn't readlly work for me. Then i went to this setup. Well I went to a N.S.P.L show with some friends and we said we want to enter the next show. So I went home and took everything out the car and started over. Here is what I have done so far. The old: The New: Its not what i wanted but it was cheap and it has a SD slot so there no need to hook a ipod up in the car. Upgrade to Monster cable 1/0 wire 200 amp breaker New Kicker Amps The Sound Destroyer Mat I did the trunk in 2 layer and everything else in 1 The Box is 4 cu ft tune to 37 hz 1993 Mazda Mx-3 Subs: 2 18" DC Audio Lvl 4 D.7 Highs amp: Sundown SAX-100.4 Sub amp: Sundown SAZ-3000D Electrical:Kinetik 1200 under hood, 2-Kinetik 2400 rear All 1/0 KnuKonceptz Wire Power/Ground, Big 3, 8Ga Speaker Wire, KnuKonceptz Karma RCA's Dampening: 120sqft 80Mil Thick Sound Destroyer Mat Goal: 150 DB 149.9 Street Bass
Team Sundown's Charles
That was going to be it but then i went to Timmmay's section and got a few ideas. No fiberglass yet Timmmmmay but I'm going to try it(for the first time) This is how the amps first got install This is it now Ok there are a few thing everyone needs to know. I have done the Big 3 don't have picture of it or the Kinetik 800 in the rear. My car came stock with a 90 amp alt. I will get a 200 amp later but for right now I think i'm ok. My voltage never goes below 12 volts. There is a few thing i did that I don't think I did right. 1) I grounded the Kinetik Battery to the frame. I see that alot of you run it from the in front battery. Is that how it should be done? 2) And for some reason my Soundstream 6 farad cap went up in smoke! Really in just started smoking. It was Charged up and worked fine for 2 months them one day SMOKE. Anyone can give me some possible reasons. I think that all the question I have right now but there will be more as this goes on. Also the N.S.P.L. show is 4/05/08 here in NC. If anyone will be there let me know I'd like to meet some of you guys in person. 1993 Mazda Mx-3 Subs: 2 18" DC Audio Lvl 4 D.7 Highs amp: Sundown SAX-100.4 Sub amp: Sundown SAZ-3000D Electrical:Kinetik 1200 under hood, 2-Kinetik 2400 rear All 1/0 KnuKonceptz Wire Power/Ground, Big 3, 8Ga Speaker Wire, KnuKonceptz Karma RCA's Dampening: 120sqft 80Mil Thick Sound Destroyer Mat Goal: 150 DB 149.9 Street Bass
