alenv10 Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Okay i want to run 4 of the crescendo audio pwx 6.5's in my charger.. I was thinking (4) 8 ohm pwx's 2 wired at 4ohm bridged and the other 2 wired at a 4 ohm bridged on a sound qubed 120-4 so 340 @ 4ohms bridged... this gives me about 170 rms per speaker, i will lower the gains, but does all that sound right? never ran speakers off an amp!! or should i do (4) 4ohm pwx's and run each into a separate channel. giving them 4 ohm loads each at 120 wrms to each speaker? is this **RUNNING ACTIVE**?? i also want to run 2 super tweeters but not worrying about that as of now unless you guys can help out with that as well NOTHING DOWN HERE YET OBSIDIAN FTW
alenv10 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 can anybody help out please by the way i was talking wiring the actual speaker directly into the amp.. NOTHING DOWN HERE YET OBSIDIAN FTW
RidingTooLow Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 To truly run active you will need a crossover before your amplifier. Do no you are not running active. You will be sending lows and highs to a midrange speaker. You need a head unit that has a electronic crossover or an external crossover. NOT a passive crossover like a component speaker set.
