First what amp because it may say 3k om the amp but only puts out 1.5k or less. Second (i could be very wrong on this part) but dosent xmax play a roll in excursion? Also just because a sub is smaller does not mean it will have less excusrion then a larger one and same with large subs just because there big dosent mean they will move more.

Here is some info we need

What amp

What sub (not just 15in audiopipe)

What ohms are your coils

What is your electrical in your car

What type of box (prefab, coustom built ported/sealed)

2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d

140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed)

140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL

142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at)

141 on music.

The travel of your sub depends on box tuning and xmax of sub, as well as the power being thrown at it. The sub won't start moving all crazy when it is playing frequencies close to the tuning of the box. Higher xmax means more excursion. More power could mean more cone movement. Just because your cone can move in and out far doesn't mean your sub should be doing it. If you lower the subsonic filter you will get more movement, but it might not be a good idea depending on your setup.

Hmmm.. i have no experience with audiopipe... But they are an off brand, so i can tell you that your 15, no matter what kind of audiopipe it is, is not going to handle 3k rms. But, on the bright side, you can list your box spec's here including port length and width, and we can give you a final tune on what you should be playing.

The reason you are not getting this "travel" you say, is because the amp is simply not tuned correctly. Even if the amp is an off brand of 3k peak rating, we can say that it will still move your sub reasonably if tuned right. list the amp brand as well..

When you start up a topic, try to take some more time to list these kinds of things to help everyone get you a reasonable answer that is closer to what you want instead of missread information and info you dont need. Its just a typical thing to do when you do anything in life. ;)

It's about to get QUIET.

Expedition, Quad zv.4 18's, ab750.1, quiet mode activated...
