Coolwazabi Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Okay... heres the deal. I sent out a battery packed and shipped with like 2 inches of cardboard on each side *ups requires at least 2" on each side* the battery gets damaged in the process so I file a claim and tell the buyer to pack it like it was or better... or UPS will not refund the money and we'll have a battery that reads 7 volts... well he didn't do such and when I got the battery it was just sitting in the box... without the packing material I previously used... so in returning the battery they DENY the claim saying it was sitting in the box with no packing peanuts, stryofoam, cardboard etc.. basically saying it was 100% verenable to damage because thats how it was supposbly shipped... so what should I do ? sactownstang Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 I don't know I am going to take the other side it's not his fault it came to him damaged, I can tell ya this long as he can prove it was sent back to u, it's your word vs his. I can tell u if i had this problem as long as it was charged on a card he should prevail. Not sure paypal would work that way... I ain't blaming u just looking at both sides Quote
Guest MegaloManiac Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 looking at both sides it both parties fault. you did not use foam you used cardboard, so all the battery took all the abuse. that would be your mistake, but the UPS lady backed you up on it so thats fine, you would have easily gotten the claim imo since the UPS lady approved. him, he did not package it right neither, and not even same as yours but worse. if it were me i would blame him even after you asked him to package it up nicely at your expense to send it to ups that it was his fault for getting the claim denied since it was his responsibility to send it(since he had the battery at the time) or if a feedback is that bad for you then take the hit and refund him....but i wouldnt id take the bad feedback knowing the circumstances of the situation. Coolwazabi Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 (edited) well... when i packed it... it was tight.. about 10 layers of cardboard on each side, top and bottom... when i got it back it was about 2 on the sides and nothing on top nor bottom... *edit* the lady on the phone made it sound like if it was packed the way i origonally had it.. it would of been covered.... so yeah....
