amazinblazin10 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I personally find this topic very helpful. I just recently built a 1/4 wave t-line thanks to this topic and it sounds amazing. I tuned it to around 30-32htz and it just sounds great, im very pleased. I would recommend this type of enclosure fo sho 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500 Big III addition with 1/0 awg wiring all throughout Lightning Audio Strike S4.1000.1D Jenson XA2250 2 - 12" Mtx Jackhammers JH55 3ft cubed box sealed under the rear bench seat Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit MB Quart FWA 160 components up front
Forevrbumpn Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 Bigpimpin91, I sent you that file on the ported phase horn wall, its only 2-18s, but with the design, it should knockk I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

jhmeg2 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Hey every one, I've been busy moovin, but i'm back now... Heres the question. Bumpin I need your input on this please. I gave my buddy a box for helping me move, and he is gonna be picking up my subs and amp soon. But what i am thinking is maybee he would be better of with a single 15''. The box I gave him is for 8 10's all in induvidual 1.45^3ft chambers slot ported @38Hz. The amp was giving me 1780 watts @ 2 ohms. In a Trailblazer it did a 148, ( one sub was unhooked I later found out so it was running @ 4 ohms and prolly putting out abot 800 watts maybe less. any how, I think that box could do a 150 or a little better. So heres the question. Would you think it would be better to do all the 10s or do a 15'' in a T-line with that amp? My mojo is in a T-line, and I love it... gotta add another baffle to the front and glass all the seams, but its doing a 144 now, Still need to turn up the amp a little and give it a little more voltage. Any input would be great. ////Alpine, Eclipse, Load Boss, Pheonix Gold, MB Quart,Digital Desings, Memphis, Stinger, Periphial, MTX, Visualogic

toolmaker Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Second post on here but have been a long time lurker just reading and getting info on the new stuff available nowdays. Just read through most of this post and believe I have a grab on it, but had a few questions before I can begin my new box build. First off, I have had 2 different setups now in my 94' Suburban. The prior one was 2 PB 10's in a 2.6 cu.ft. box slot ported and tuned to around 32hz. It peaked in the Suburban at around 40-45hz( playing test tones). The current set-up is 2 Earthquake DBXR-12's , each in their own sealed enclosure(can't remember off-hand cu.ft. but it was a prefab that came free with the subs), and the also peak in the Suburban at around the same 40-45hz. So with that in mind should I tune the box for that frequency range or go lower since I am looking for SQL daily music. Second, when you guys are building the t-lines are you paying attention to how close the back of the subwoofer is for venting purposes of the vc. Or does it not matter as long as it doesnt hit the back wall of the port? And third, here is the specs on my 2 twelves if you would like to give some thoughts on this: Fs 27.67 Rev C Ohms 7.4 BL Tm 25.5 Qms 5.3063 Qes .326 Qts .307 Vas 2.84 Pe 600 rms( If I remember right, which right now they are only being underpowered by a RFt3002) Thanks for any suggestions. Toolmaker P.S. - Foreverbumpin , I sent you a pm. 94' Suburban Kenwood HU RF T3002 2x SAZ-1500D's 2x PG Rsd 6.5's 4x RE SE 12' Kicker Hyperflex 1/0 ...more still to come
aznboi3644 Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 here's a big enclosure if anyone wants to give it a try and tell us how it sounds. The exterior dimensions are 41" wide and 26" deep and 11.5" tall. If you are serious about building it PM me and i'll send you all the dimensions. I originally designed this for a couple of my old school MTX 10's for an upcoming competition...more of daily loud but hopefully it'll get down to 30-35Hz...but feel free to try it out. I won't be able to start on it until next month or so. BTW this is for the back of a 98' Explorer Dual 10" Back Loaded Horn Enclosure
