dillon.j Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 The previous owner of my car had 4 pioneer speakers and factory tweeters hooked up to a 400 watt amp. I took out two pioneer speakers and attempted to take out the factory tweeters in favor of a pair of Alpine SPS-610c's. Factory tweeter wiring was a no-go, straight back to the head unit, could not get the SPS-610c wiring through the door boot. So I hooked up my Alpines and drilled a hole for new tweeters. I now have 4 tweeters and 4 woofers, but I introduced a buzzing sound in the front speakers. It's a low hum when the car is on, and oscillates up and down as I drive. I did not have this problem before, so I'm not sure how the alternator could possibly suddenly become a problem. Any ideas on what I might have done wrong? Thank you for any input.

Gregorio253 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Could be a bad ground or one of the wires you run or in the front speakers could be touching metal of the car
dillon.j Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 how do you have your wires ran? The factory tweeters run straight back into the head unit, so I connected my woofers with the connectors that were previously connected to the Pioneers and just drilled new holes for the Alpine tweeters. The Alpines I have, they have 4 connectors on the woofer. The extra two are for a crossover connection, which then connects to the tweeter.
Rich Schenk Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 check the speaker wires to see if they got cut on metal could be grounding out. dillon.j Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 check the speaker wires to see if they got cut on metal could be grounding out. I'll put that on the list of things to check. Thanks.
Rich Schenk Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 ya thats all you can do just go back thru whatever you did and just double check everything On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway.....
