JordanSchumaker
So I just bought the Rockford fosgate 1200 1d amp to pair up with the Rockford fosgate p3d4 15. The sub is 600 rms and the amp puts out 800 rms at 2 ohms which is what I was planning on running it at because I've heard it can handle a bit more. I just wanted some input on whether the sub can handle an extra 200 rms without a problem. Is anyone currently running the same setup? Any response is appreciated
Aj11
as long as you set the gains correctly, have a decent subsonic filter, and your box isn't huge you should be fine. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

JordanSchumaker
I got a ported prefab box from sonic electronix that's 2.54 cubic feet and I think Rockford recommends 2.66. I don't know too much about setting gains and all that but thankyou guys for the help

funnyent
Setting gain is the most important part of the set up. I (and many others on here ) own a SMD DD-1 and let other's use it to help them. Search SMD tools map and see if there is someone near you that could help you do it. http://batchgeo.com/map/93b3e7dfd7ea8496a6f1640587e3e4cf
JordanSchumaker
Okay I'll deff look into getting one of the smd dd to get my gains where they should be. I've learned a lot from this forum and YouTube so I'll be checking back and forth for more knowledge
Aj11
i really Hope you take our advice! cuz if you decide well I'll just set it by ear for now you'll blow it in a month or so. this Is because kids set it so its as loud as it can be and they clip the crap out of them! or they tune the gain at half volume then turn the volume to max. either way its Gonna blow! have you done your big 3 yet? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
JordanSchumaker
Yeah I was looking at videos of the smd dd an it's seems really simple to get your gains where they should be and the price isn't too bad. I haven't done the big 3 because I'll be getting a new car in the future so I don't really wanna put money into my car now lol
