ChillMasterWill Posted March 29, 2014 Report Share Posted March 29, 2014 I decided to re-do my truck I started this project Feb 22, had some ideas I'd been wanting to do for a while so I took it all out & started over, a dude drove 2.5 hours from Columbia, SC & bought my 2 year "old" box, this new box is bigger & made of 2 layers of 3/4" birch(old box was built for the SKAR VVXv1's single layer 3/4" MDF), it has a 3/4" plexi window to view the subs I painted the magnet boots of the 4 SKAR ZVXv2 15's with a silver paint pen, I had my Oval Port custom designed & cut out on a CNC machine it's made of 4 pieces of 4" MDF, it's been glued together by clamps & fiberglassed with chop mat for strength, tuning is gonna be around 31hz & is 156 "square" inches of port area, the box "Will" have LED's inside to light up the port & subs, white inside & black outside, I moved my 2 SKAR SK-4500's from off the box, I made amp racks for them & I went up from my 1 SKAR 85.4 on my 4 SKAR PAX 6.5's to 2 SKAR LP-80.4's on em', the amp racks have 4 cross flow fans to help keep the amps cool, I had a custom battery rack built it's bolted to the frame using the same factory holes in the frame where the spare tire was, I went to Daytona Beach Florida to compete in IASCA Bass Boxing Lightweight at SBN but because the rules stated that IF you cut or modify your frame or body panels which I did not to fit a battery rack it can't hang below the body line but since my rack hung below the body line I was moved all the way to the heavyweight class I finished 10th out of 12 with a 149.2 score, me & my son got the truck playing minutes before I went in to compete, after 30 days of me working on the truck it was a blast, I still have much left to do, they're gonna reword the rule book because of my truck then I can compete in lightweight at the next show...
