Rck'nRF Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I was wondering if anyone actually ever tried making a sub box with say, two/etc separate chambers where one was ported and the other(s) were sealed, having a box that had the best of both sealed/ported worlds perhaps driven by 1 or more amps or with 2 separate gains?? Just curious..

bbeljefe Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Running a sealed box next to a ported box would be of no use. If the ported box was designed properly, it would sound better and would be louder than the sealed and if it wasn't designed properly it would sound worse and would still be louder than the sealed box. If you want sound quality and SPL, do some due diligence and get quality subs in a properly designed vented enclosure.
