Dave12cc Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 After I walked by a car audio show in Daytona during Spring Break a week or so ago. I want to reinstall.. My stuff has been sitting in the house for a year and some, since my last truck was wrecked. Saw the same truck driving down the beach with bass hitting really nicely.. wish i knew how they did it. or what components they were running. I enjoyed cruising too the sound this put out, although you couldn't here any type of base hitting outside the truck at all. (i never figured that out). I would like to know what I need to ask from whomever I have do the install, so that I can get the best possible setup. I forgot just about all of what I knew about sound systems since.. Any help.. thanks in advance. Jon Tyler Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Best advice i can offer because everyone is different...stick around on the forum since you're new to it, read up for on the install sections and all the things you need to know. When i came to this site i new just the basics of car audio, but by now, i feel like i know enough to do a pretty good install. Jon Tyler Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 RIght on.. Do i need a bigger amp? or is it good for the subs? Seeing as the subs are 400 rms, and the amp is 1200 watts, i think you would be fine. But to be honest, those wouldn't be the subs i would recommend to you, but it depends, what kind of budget are you working with? and what car? and what kind of space? im no expert but i can recommend you some good gear based on your budget. Jon Tyler Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Im not going to lie, if you're not looking for anything too extreme that would be a good setup, again it all depends on what you're looking for Jon Funda 16 Car audio Enthusiast and Still learning Ragnarok Scenario Player, Youngblood #111
Dave12cc Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Hmm I'm okay with spending $1-2k . It's a Crew Cab Pickup (2012 SIerra) the only room is under the back bench seat ( i have sealed box with 2 shallow 12s still in it) Im going to need a new (zero?) gauge wiring kit. and perhaps a new box / subs if some one knows how to get a bigger setup in this thing. (keeping everything in place)
Dave12cc Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 Note that this is stuff I already own (last setup from previous vehicle (same truck) . But I want to get clean bass that can be heard... not just from the inside. So this is why these questions raised to myself. Made me wonder if the amp wasn't big enough or something. I saw a crew cab with bass that traveled very well, and it was full of passengers , so It couldn't have been anything extreme?. all the seats were still there..
Jon Tyler Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Ok, so im no expert at all on the space in pick ups, but i know there are quite a few people on this forum who are, i have seen numerous builds done on this forum that went under the seats, now this is a build that i just looked through trying to find something as an example for you, now this is a different truck but its something for you to look at, if you go under the "member builds section" im sure you can find more pick-up builds http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-blowthrough-finally-cut/ Now his build isn't done but its getting there. Here is another build, more similiar to what you're doing http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179179-2013-f-150-rf-sundown-audio/ Hope i helped a little Jon Funda 16 Car audio Enthusiast and Still learning Ragnarok Scenario Player, Youngblood #111
