gr8handogoatness
Put a speaker wire in the back of the HU into the RCA slot and it fixed it. | You did what? I don't think I'm understanding you on this. Also tell us about your gain. How did you set it?
Jeep03
This video will help your confusion. Gain is about halfway I did it ghetto by using the clipping detector that came with the 3500. But it still sounds shitty.
gr8handogoatness
So try some new RCA's and set the gains right. I have never personally verified that the clipping detector on sundowns to be perfect. The whole speaker wire thing makes me think its a bad connection which could also hinder the sound. If you can fit that much speaker wire in the gap you need better RCA's.
Jeep03
Lol its not the RCA's dude. These HE goes bad after a while. Its a defect especially on Pioneers. It's not like I was the only one with this problem. The solution is fixed. Its called a "ground loop" and its common. Even in home stereo installations. Anyway my only concern right now is the amount of watts I'm getting because it clearly doesn't feel like 3500 watts. Will put a multimeter on each speaker to see what ohms they are at.
