mdwerner6942 Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 EPA INTERIOR VOLUME 114.3 cu.ft, this is the inside area in vehicle, and using a Hifonic's Brz 2400 amp which I am not sure if it actually produces 2400 watts or not, but with my old sub (15) lot less sub would at times on E40 start to smell a little and had to turn it down which obviously sucked. Cash wise about the same for a Bl 15 with chamfer and flat wound coil, (not sure if the flat wound coil would change the sound much) but it is that or a 18" Bl chamfer with more cone area and stock coil. My Box for now it would be just one 6" aero port which some claim that you can use 50-75% less port area and still respond well. Plus if you seen these 6" x 18" long ports there almost impossible to fit in a small box, they get a lot shorter in a box net 5-6.25 cu ft. Fi suggest on 15 is under 5 cu ft net. Woofers, in a larger box might affect the amount of power it may take. I could always change to 3 4" ports later using PVC, but then, guess there is this following formula, example air speed 1116 / 32 Hz = 34.88. I was told with more then one port if you do not stick to this, you could get port lag which I was told then the port would not be seen as just one port causing the port lag and suck.
