At what point does your amp put out its full rated RMS?

Recommended Posts

even if you have the prefect power for your amp, lets say you have a 1,000w amp that does rated at 1ohm. you have 2 350amp alts and a bank.of batteries and super caps (overkill i know, I'm trying to make a point)

with all that you would think that you will Get full power from your amp. well it's not as simple as that! between box rise and other real world situations the odds of getting that is rare.

you Can produce 1000w yes absolutely! but rms (root mean square) is the average of the amp so a 1000w rms amp Can make 2000w for a short time. but actually getting 1000w rms in your car on a sub in a box... very very hard to do.

it's life and life isn't fair! sorry
