TRON
Looooooooove what I'm seeing. Prolly gonna pretty much copy exactly what you have done there. I put two 6.5" in each of my door panels in the same spot as you and with 3/4" MDF rings BUT did not glass them all nice, got them in for some tunes for the time being but it needs some TLC for sure. Your work looks great man. tuned in for end result! Thanks! The passenger side looks way better than the drivers because I used a thinner fabric instead of fleece. I'll be uploading more pictures today. Awesome work Thanks man. TRON
So I cracked some of the plastic with my air stapler so I decided to cut back and re build it. Add some kitty hair And here's the passenger side. Looks much better. TRON
No major updates other than sanding door panels. Oh shit I lied. Didn't like the size of the enclosure so I hacked it up and took some volume out of it. I don't know if my software did something wrong or whatever but the it did seem a bit too big, but I figured I'd try it out. I've built large enclosures before and had some good results but I guess 15 cuft is too big. Anyways, I wasn't to thrilled with the performance, so i cut it down to 10.5 cuft. I know...fuckin' goon at work here. Blurry as shit because I wasn't wearing my glasses. Long story short, I cut it, I glued it, and put screws in it. At this point I dgaf because I might just rebuild the enclosure. TRON
Anyways, I was going to bed liner the doors but I found some vinyl that almost perfectly matched the stock texture of the doors so I'm going to try it out. thefourth
Doors came out really clean. Looks pretty seamless with the contours of the door. Were you just using staples to hold the fabric to the door? Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. Were you just using staples to hold the fabric to the door? Thanks. I used contact cement with staples, though the cement was a cheap brand and didn't work too well. TRON
Okay, so I royally fucked up on my enclosure. Worry not, I have a proper design now that I worked on for a few hours last night with some help from the forum. Here's what I got: 10 cubic ft, with 165 square in of port, tuned to 28 hz. I'm only going to double up the baffle this time round and brace to save some weight instead of double thick all around...the current enclosure is a pig to move around.
